Common questions

  • How do I make a GIF from images?

Upload your pictures, drag them into order, and choose the delay and transition. Check the live preview, then open Download to export your animated GIF.

  • Is this GIF maker free?

Yes. You can create and download GIFs without registration or a watermark. No software installation is required.

  • Which image formats can I use?

Use JPG, PNG, or WebP files, including a mix of these formats. For a page focused on JPEG photos, use our JPG to GIF converter.

  • How many images can I upload?

The editor accepts up to 15 images, with a maximum of 5 MB per image.

  • Does one photo become a moving scene?

Movement comes from a sequence of different poses. Use burst photos, stop-motion shots, or drawings with small changes between them, then play them with no transition. One photograph on its own will remain still.

  • Can I change the animation speed?

Yes. Delay sets the time on each picture and applies to the whole sequence. Use a short delay for consecutive poses and a longer one for reading or comparing details. With a transition enabled, Motion sets the time spent changing between pictures.

  • Why is my GIF so large?

Detailed photos, large output dimensions, and animated transitions can increase file size. Try a smaller export width or fewer images. If the animation already looks right, use our GIF compressor to reduce its size.

  • Can I add captions or use a carousel layout?

Use our GIF slideshow maker for captions and layouts such as Carousel, Trio, Overlay, and Perimeter. This image to GIF maker focuses on a simple sequence of pictures.

  • Can I make a GIF from a video?

For a video file, use our video to GIF converter. It lets you select a clip and adjust the output settings before conversion.

  • Will the GIF loop?

Yes. The exported GIF repeats the sequence. Playback and upload limits depend on the website, email client, or app where you use it.

What to make from your images

  • Dance and burst photos.

Turn consecutive shots of a gesture into a fast loop for a party reaction or team celebration. Keep the camera steady and include the end of the movement.

  • Product angles.

Show front and angled views in one image so shoppers can compare the shape and details. Keep the product at a similar size against the same background.

  • Advertising banners.

Combine finished campaign graphics into a website or newsletter banner. Keep the product and call to action visible while short headlines change, then link the GIF to your offer.

  • Illustrated greetings.

Keep a birthday or thank-you message fixed while balloons, a character, or other details move around it. Prepare each pose as an image, then assemble them into a repeating greeting.

  • Photos of friends.

Bring related moments from a trip or celebration together in a short photo story. Use direct changes for a photo-booth rhythm or short dissolves for a gentler recap.

  • Stop-motion sequences.

Make an object move, a bag pack itself, or paper shapes change position. Keep the camera fixed and move the subject a little between each shot.

  • Photo instructions.

Show the key actions of a recipe, craft, or repair, ending with the finished result. Use a quick loop as an overview or give each step more time for closer study. Keep the full instructions alongside it.

  • Before and after.

Alternate between an original photo and the finished renovation, retouch, or restoration. Match the framing and leave enough time on each image for viewers to notice what changed.

  • Design variations.

Compare color schemes, packaging concepts, or illustration styles in one loop. Keep the layout aligned so each change stands out, then share the GIF with a client or add it to your portfolio.

GIF maker features

  • Multiple images.

Combine several pictures into one animated GIF. Start with a focused sequence rather than a large collection to keep the result manageable.

  • JPG, PNG, and WebP.

Upload photographs, screenshots, or graphics in these image formats. You can mix supported formats in the same animation without converting them first.

  • Drag to reorder.

Move image cards into the sequence you want. Check the updated preview to see how the new order changes the story.

  • Editable image selection.

Remove a picture that interrupts the sequence and upload another. Refine your selection before exporting instead of rebuilding the animation from scratch.

  • Adjustable delay.

Set how long images remain on screen, from 0.1 to 10 seconds. Use a slower pace for text or detailed screenshots.

  • Transition effects.

Choose how one image changes to the next. Compare effects in the picker and preview the selected transition with your own pictures.

  • Aspect ratio presets.

Choose a square, portrait, or landscape frame. Match the proportions to your planned placement and check how each image fits the preview.

  • Consistent framing.

Fit differently sized pictures into a shared output frame. Review the composition to make sure important details remain visible throughout the sequence.

  • Rounded corners.

Adjust the image corner radius to suit your design. Keep corners square for screenshots or soften them for a photo collection.

  • Live animation preview.

See the animation while you change the sequence and settings. Check the pacing and transitions before starting the final GIF export.

  • Fullscreen workspace.

Expand the editor for a larger view of your images. Inspect the composition and return to the page when you finish editing.

  • Looping animation.

Create a GIF that repeats its image sequence. Check the change from the final picture back to the first for a smoother loop.

  • Export settings.

Choose the available download settings before rendering your file. Balance output size and image detail for the place where you will share it.

  • Free GIF maker.

Create and download your image animation for free. Try different sequences and transitions to find a result that suits your project.

  • No registration.

Start arranging images without creating an account. The editor is available directly on the page, with no sign-up step before you begin.

  • No watermark.

Download your GIF without added service branding. Keep the attention on your pictures when using the animation in a page or presentation.
